Darren Knight acquired the business on 1st April 2016 when the founders Mark Middleton and Sheryl Holland retired. Darren has spent the last 12 years growing a successful accounting practice in the Warkworth/North Auckland region and is now enjoying the exciting new challenge at M&H. Like Mark and Sheryl, Darren is also passionate about property investment and has worked closely with and assisted to develop and sell many small to medium sized businesses. Darren has also owned retail businesses providing first-hand experience of everything from pricing through to HR issues that all small business owners face. He prides himself on effective communication and being able to assist clients with their business. Darren has a young family and his interests include surfing, fishing, travelling, good food, and wine.
Anita joined the M & H team in May 2016. She is a qualified NZ Chartered Accountant and has a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sydney. She has extensive experience in various sized public practice including the Big 4 since 1998, specialises in tax, accounting and business advisory services.
Anita began her career as a banker, sharebroker and financial analyst with ANZ and ASB Bank until she took up a role as investigator with Inland Revenue. She enjoys helping clients and working with new technology. She is an accredited Xero Live consultant and provided financial accounting services to a variety of clients operating in a range of industries, managing existing client relationships and providing them with day-to-day business and tax advice. She is also responsible for providing advice on business structure and business planning. In her spare time, Anita enjoys travelling with her husband, pilates, reading and spending time with friends.
I am originally from the UK but arrived in New Zealand in 1989. I have a B. A Hons in Business Studies and have owned my own business for 12 years so I understand the challenges that this brings. I have been with M & H since March 2015. I love coming to work and I thoroughly enjoy my role as a tax administrator; we have a wonderful team and a refreshing down to earth attitude.
My role involves liaising between our clients and the Inland Revenue Department, this can include, following up on tax refunds, making payment arrangements between the client and IRD, advising clients of upcoming tax liabilities such as provisional and terminal tax. I am also responsible for company closures and advise clients on the winding up process. I understand that many clients find dealing with IRD a daunting process, so I make every effort to simplify matters and will act on behalf of our clients with discussions with IRD to help obtain a positive outcome.
Rangika joined Middleton Holland in 2003 after working for Ernst & Young in Sri Lanka as a Senior Auditor for four years. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and has a degree in Accountancy. Rangika loves to spend the weekends with her active three-year-old son and her family and would like to travel around the world someday.
Rajeshrie settled in NZ with her family in 2003. Originally from South Africa, she worked as an Office Manager & Bookkeeper for the family’s construction business for 9 years. Since 2003 she has worked in the same field until joining M & H in 2008. At M&H Raj is the Banklink and Xero Administrator. She has a bachelor of business degree majoring in Accounting and is presently studying towards her CA qualification. Raj is supported by her loving husband and 3 adorable children.
Ranu joined the M & H team in November 2007. For 10 years prior to joining Middleton Holland, she worked in the finance department of several companies in Fiji.
Ranu enjoys spending time with family and friends, movies & music, and summer days at the beach.
Bex joins us with a wide range of customer service and accounts skills with her key focus being delivering prompt, accurate and friendly service. An Auckland girl born and bred, when not working Bex enjoys the natural and relaxed beauty Auckland has to offer with her family.
I come from South Africa and have been in New Zealand for just over a year now and loving every minute of it. I have two beautiful small children; I enjoy spending time with them on the beautiful beaches of New Zealand. I’m M & H's office administrator; I am responsible for all Company Offices changes and filing of the Annual Returns. I am relatively new to M & H and I am enjoying every minute of it, especially meeting and working with our clients. I am so privileged to have this great opportunity and to be part of the M & H team.
Chandima joined Middleton Holland in 2008. She has over 10 years’ experience as a professional accountant and worked as Senior Auditor for Price Waterhouse Coopers in Sri Lanka before joining M & H. She is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants and The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and holds a degree in Accountancy. She is also an accredited Xero Live consultant. She has one adorable baby and loves to spend as much time as possible with her family. She enjoys getting to know people and loves to travel.
